Due to the operational nature of the airport, Newcastle Airport does not currently offer traditional work experience placements.
However, we are proud to support the next generation of aviation professionals through our Ambassador Programme, delivered in partnership with Newcastle College Aviation Academy.
Based on-site at Newcastle Airport, the Academy offers a range of aviation-focused courses for school leavers and young adults interested in pursuing a career in the aviation industry. Students benefit from industry-leading facilities, including a dedicated training centre and a 1,500m² aircraft training hangar.
Through the Ambassador Programme, students gain valuable insight into airport operations and have opportunities to learn about a range of departments, including:
- Security
- Passenger Services
- Operations
- Air Traffic Control
- Engineering and Technical Services
Newcastle Airport has worked closely with Newcastle College since the Academy opened in 2014, helping students develop the skills and experience needed to pursue careers across the aviation sector.
